Minutes of the Meeting
July 20 2006
The meeting was opened by President David Kanally at 7:30 PM at Benefit Mall Inc.
Treasury Report - Phil Wolff $3513.05 on account not including several fees collected during the meeting.
Lake Joe Pool Event - National Marina Day August 12. Mark Webster brought us up to date. The lake has plenty of water at 97% level. Things look very positive for the planned event.
Shop Report- Robin McGeorge Very little going on with high temperatures and lack of projects. Phil Wolff, Chris Christensen, and Jerry Foltyn continue at a slow pace. Asphalt has been delivered for the parking lot but still needs to be spread.
Lewisville Lake Ride and Show discussion: Liaison with Eagle Point Marina is still needed. The Friday night event will definitely be held at the Kroemers in Argyle. Registration forms are available on line. The Lewisville Lake water line is down 10 ft. but the marina ramp is still useable. A lake map will be prepared to emphasize the water hazard areas. The banquet menu will be Fiesta Mexican as it was last year.
Robin gave a great demonstration of filling open seams on the side of wooden boats. The boards he demonstrated displayed all phases of the technique and, in the final product, the seams were invisible.
Phil gave a presentation on E-bay scams. Bottom line - don’t provide personal data to any unsolicited request, even if it appears to be from E-bay. Block out-of-country bidding. Be suspicious of off E-bay offers to sell below threshold. They are often from other than the seller and don’t intend to deliver anything.
Next month’s meeting will be back at Quick Draw. Mark Webster will be presenting.
There is a 1956 Chris Craft Continental for sale and if interested please contact dansuzanne@verizon.net
