Minutes of the Meeting

The meeting was opened by President Mark Webster at 7:30 PM.

Bob VanGuilder announced a potential member from the antique boat motor club.

David Kanally left word that the insurance certificate has been procured for the Silver Lake Marina event on Lake Grapevine. Members are encouraged to get their money in by May 18 to CCCA/NTR at 13109 Halwin Circle, Dallas, TX 75243, for the barbeque lunch.

Richard Haug has distributed the current Caulk Talk. Extra copies are available for publicity purposes.

Mark announced that our membership list is still in update and needs input on changes.

Phil Wolff advised that our present treasury balance is $2026.49 The club website has been renewed and expanded and will be updated quarterly. Phil is asking for pictures for a boat gallery to be posted on the site.

Robin McGeorge brought us up to date on work at the shop. Bottom work continues on Chris’s and Phil’s boats.

Mark Kelsey gave a presentation on the future of Army marine transportation being developed to carry equipment and personnel to remote locations, the HSV-1 (High Speed Vehicle). The craft will help support the services requirement for 96 hour deployment of forces anywhere on the globe. He showed pictures of the prototype craft built commercially in Australia for the US Army. Speeds as high as 48 Knots can be achieved on the hydrofoil craft. Mark is active in the US Army Reserve.
