Minutes of the Meeting

The meeting was opened by President David Kanally at 7:25 PM.

Mark Webster reported that we have two new members: Mark Hill and Bob Adair.

The treasurer, Phil Wolff, reported a balance of $1503.05.

Robin reported on shop activity:

Pete’s Daisy: Still "varnish freshening".

Chris’ Chris Craft:: engine ready for installation

Phil’s Century: adding shims to prevent porpoising.

Jerry’s Mercury: sanding sides for more varnish.

Les Burton reported on an experiment for his Century. He has epoxied Kevlar to his forward keel to prevent skuffing.

Jim Wolf reported Ebay sales of $210.00 (not included above in treasury report).

Calendar events for June were discussed. As of now six boats are scheduled for the Corinthian show June 3-4, and ten for the Car & Boat show at Pier 121 June 24. Both events are on Lake Lewisville.

The president gave a great presentation on the Golden Age of Yachting in the 1930’s when some folks had lots of money to spend on fine craft. Boats and motors of the era and the America’s cup activity were discussed. David also unveiled Lisa’s fine water color painting of David’s sailing craft.

A new meeting location will be required for June and July, to be announced next meeting.

More folks signed up for meeting presentations, several openings still exist.

The meeting adjourned at 8:25.
