WBA Meeting Minutes

March 15th, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM by President David Kanally at the Midway Point Restaurant. We moved immediately into reports:

Vice President's Report - Bob Van Guilder: Arranging alternate sites for the Ride ‘n Show will require more lead time than the current season permits, so we should move ahead with Sneaky Pete’s for the 2007 show.

Treasurer's Report - Phil Wolff: Treasury account balance is $1614.95. This is lower than is comfortable for a minimum balance. Members are encouraged to contribute parts and other items of value for sale by the club on eBay.

Secretary's Report – Richard Haug (in absentia): Nothing to report.

Membership Report – No new members, but the club was pleased to welcome guest Rick Shaefer from Fort Worth/Eagle Mountain.

Project Reports – Robin McGeorge (in absentia): Troy Marshall’s Chris Craft 18ft Cavalier Project: Still on track to be ready for Keels and Wheels. Staining is complete. Ready for varnishing to begin. Mark Webster's '73 Chris Craft XK22: Mark’s hull exterior is complete and now in storage in the club facilities in Lucas. His engine rebuild is coming along fine. Jerry Foltyn's Mercury: 14 coats of gleaming, buffed and polished varnish are on the boat. David Kanally's sailboat: Lew White and David have assembled all the main stem and keel replacement pieces and the boat is ready for re-planking. Chris Christian’s boat has been moved out of the shop and into storage for completion. Bob Van Guilder’s Dart is now in the shop, receiving cosmetic repairs and varnish.

2007 Events/ Misc:

Signups are still needed for May-September meeting presentations. Please let David Kanally know which month you’d like to be responsible for. WBA Business Cards: See David Kanally brought a supply of generic business cards to the meeting for members’ use in promoting the club. Let David know if you need a fresh supply.

David Kanally presented a couple 1949 Mercury Outboard promotional films narrated by Paul Harvey. The films give exciting and sometimes humorous reports of the Albany to NYC outboard marathon and other outboard racing events.
