Wood, Waves & Wheels at Eagle Mountain May 9

This flyer promotes the Wood, Waves & Wheels Boat Car and Boat Show on May 9. Several WBA members will be participating. Email David Kanally for an entry form if you'd like to bring your boat!

The Eagle Mountain Classic Boat Club and the Fort Worth Boat Club are joining forces to present the Wood, Waves & Wheels Boat, Car & Bike Show on Saturday, May 9 at the Fort Worth Boat Club, 10000 Boat Club Road, Fort Worth 76179. Running from 12 noon until 5 p.m., the show will feature some of the metroplex's finest antique and classic boats, automobiles and motorcycles. It's a show unlike any in our area, and several WBA members have already registered to attend.

We'll be going early to get in a few runs prior to the 12 p.m. show start. There's no entry fee, but it is necessary to register if you wish to bring a boat. No entries will be accepted on the day of the event.

Lunch will be available at very reasonable prices, so we won't go hungry for sure!

Awards will be presented at 6 p.m., and there will also be a banquet at 7 p.m. for all participants.

We're big fans of this event, and we feel it's important to support the events of our sister clubs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, just as they support ours. So if you can, join us for some great boating and even better fellowship on May 9.

If you would like an entry form, please email David Kanally

April Meeting Features Bob Van Guilder's Dart Presentation

Special thanks to WBA President Bob Van Guilder for stepping up to make a great presentation on the rare and beautiful Dart Boats at the Club's April meeting.

Bob's Dart, "Fine Wine" has been a well-admired participant in the Ride 'n Show, Keels and Wheels and other area and national shows for years. Many fortunate WBA members have ridden aboard "Fine Wine" and she has served as the official WBA camera boat for several event filmings.

Would you like to learn more about the history of your boat? Why not volunteer to give a presentation at an upcoming meeting? You'll learn alot as you prepare your presentation!

KXII TV of Sherman to Air Yellow Jacket Story

Heads up to our members in the Texoma area! KXII Channel 12 is planning to air a news story on the Yellow Jacket Boat Company on Tuesday, May 7 during their 10 p.m. newscast. KXII was on hand this past Thursday at the old Yellow Jacket Factory site in Denison where new member Tom Weber's 1956 Riviera was poised in front of the old production building. Gene Ramey, who worked for Yellow Jacket in the '50s, was on hand with plenty of stories of his time at Yellow Jacket. If you live in the KXII viewing area, please consider recording this broadcast. We'll let you know if there's any change in schedule.
